Welcome to NSC!
The town of Nanton has a population of approximately 2,130.
The Nanton Skating Club was established in 1971 and we are now into our 50th season! We are a growing noncompetitive figure skating club. Our goal is to teach basic skating skills, the fundamentals of Skate Canada’s STARSkate program in a fun team atmosphere.
The Nanton Skating Club offers:
JR STARSkate…this can be used to transition from CanSkate while still completing the CanSkate stages 4-6.
SR STARSkate…this program works on dance, skills, freeskate and many more fundamentals of figure skating.
CanSkate…for all ages! This is to teach the basic fundamentals of all skating sports (i.e.: hockey, ringette, speed skating and figure skating). Skaters have a chance to work through Skate Canada’s pre-can to stage 6 CanSkate.
Parent&TotSkate...a fun way to introduce your toddler to the rink and bond with your little one.
CanPowerSkate....Geared specifically towards hockey and ringette players for additional development of skating skills.
The coaches of the Nanton Skating Club have also had the privilege of coaching two Special Olympics Athletes: Kennedy for over a decade and Eleanor for 8 years. Their wealth of coaching experience with these athletes is a tremendous asset to our club!
