Code of Conduct
Parent Code of Conduct
Parents are vital to the development of young athletes. Whether sitting in the stands or helping as a volunteer, parents must set a positive example. Parents and adults involved in youth sports should be models of good sportsmanship and lead by example on and off the ice surface.
• Give constructive criticism during a private moment, never in front of other parents, players, officials, spectators, etc.
• Support your coach and refrain from excessive "sideline coaching" from the stands.
• Refrain from using profanity.
• Abide by a doctor's decision in all matters of players health and injuries and physical ability to play.
• Do not criticize an opposing team, its players, fans, or coaches by words or gestures.
• Support the coaches, players and officials and help teach the value of commitment to the teams, sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play.
• Parents will not encourage their child or any other person to engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, teammate, participants, official or any other attendee.
• If a parent/caregiver needs to meet with the coaching staff for a question or discussion regarding their child's training/lessons, please be respectful of all skaters and arrange these conversations for after lessons/ice time or any other mutually agreeable time.
• We enforce a ZERO tolerance policy for any abuse or disrespect towards coaching and arena staff.
By checking 'yes' below I agree to abide by the principles and code of conduct above and agree to the enforcement policy as described.

The guiding principle of the Nanton Skating Club is that we are a TEAM and all teammates shall be treated with respect and kindness. A “three strikes system” will be implemented for fair and equitable discipline where repeated problems are not resolved.
1. First Strike: verbal warning from an official designate of the Club.
2. Second Strike: removal from the ice surface and discussion with the Parent/Guardian in a formal meeting environment.
3. Third Strike: Skating privileges will be removed and any fees paid will be forfeit.
