Lindsay Lord

Head Coach & Choreographer

I started skating at 3 years old and instantly fell in love with the sport. At this early age and through my competitive years I dedicated every minute I had to my toe picks and the rink. With the dedication to the sport comes traveling; and I have been fortunate enough to train in such places as: Nova Scotia, Barrie ON, Philadelphia, California and Whitehorse.
As an accomplished Senior Lady holding quad gold status, I have been privileged to compete against some of the best in the world including: Kaitlin Osmond, Jessica Dube and Joannie Rochette; as well as having some amazing coaches and mentors in my life: Doug Lee, Robert Tebby, Jeff Langdon, Lori Finney, Greg Folk, Berny Ford, Mark Pillay, and Theo Fleury. They have all given wisdom and encouragement to me regarding sport and life; I am grateful to them all.

Lorelle Holmes

CanSkate & Junior Development Coach

Hi there, I am Lorelle Holmes and I will be your coach! I started my membership with the Nanton Skating Club as a Canskater 22 years ago. In that time I skated with many different coaches and skaters, taking a brief hiatus to skate with our friends at the Claresholm Skating Club and returning to meet Lindsey Lord and Leanne Woodcock as my coaches for my last year of skating before moving to the states for University.
Little did I know at the time I would be returning to Nanton, first as an adult skater and now as a coach! I began volunteer coaching in 2019 and am pleased to have completed my Canskate Coach Certification.
In my time as a skater I completed my Senior Silver Dances, Silver Interpretive, Senior Bronze Skills, and Junior Bronze Freeskate. Along with this I have competed in many regional and local competitions and test days. As a skater and coach I never let failure get me down and will continue to pursue my own skating goals and help my skaters reach their own. Working with skaters of any skill levels and abilities gives me so much pride in my coaching and it is a huge honor to be a part of a club that works so closely with our Special Olympic Skaters.

It  doesnt matter where you start it matters that you do!
